Illogistix is a one-person “development team”, essentially the same person as the one loosely responsible for another indie “team” Bullet Mechanics but deliberately trying to be more experimental (as in experimenting with different languages and sub genres rather than being all arty and stuff) whilst pretty much exclusively still writing stuff where little aliens get blowed to bits. Time will tell if that’s a sensible or even feasable idea or not but it should at least be interesting finding out…

So the projects on this website should mostly be smaller games and each will be an experiment at some level; a few will be programmed in languages i’ve not previously worked with, others produced using development tools such as Game Maker and some will be more about trying sub genres of game that i’ve previously not taken a swing at; the bulk of them will however be shoot ‘em ups because if i’m going to have fun i might as well stick with the genre i enjoy the most!

Each project will start out with an aim, document the process of producing the game itself (minus the swearing that will no doubt be happening in the “real world”) and be wound up with a post mortem discussing the pros and cons of what happened… almost like a professional developer would do! And to fill the gaps, there’ll be the odd piece of commentary and game reviews, again because it seemed like a good idea at the time…
